Description
Slidey Block takes a familiar idea—sliding blocks—and gives it a twist that’s both approachable and surprisingly satisfying when you get into the groove. The basic move is simple: drag the oddly-shaped blocks left or right on each row to complete full lines, which then clear from the board. If you’ve played Tetris, some of it will feel recognizable, but there’s no dropping pieces from above. Instead, everything’s already lined up waiting for your moves.
What I noticed quickly is how easy it is to pick up and just mess around with for five minutes (well, sometimes longer than planned). No clocks pressuring you. No overly busy visuals either; it keeps things clean so you can focus on those satisfying clears as the rows disappear. As new blocks appear at the bottom after each move, strategy comes in—not just reacting but setting yourself up a few turns ahead.
Younger kids could definitely play this one, but actually, adults looking for a break might enjoy it too. It doesn’t demand a huge time investment or precise reflexes. And if you ever get stuck? Well, that’s part of its charm—trying out odd moves until something clicks.
There’s something quietly addictive about chasing your next high score.

Honestly, I sat down expecting to only try Slidey Block for a couple minutes—just enough to get the gist for this review—but ended up playing far longer than I’d meant to. Something about sliding those chunky blocks into place and suddenly watching two rows vanish is genuinely satisfying, even though you’d think such a simple premise would get old fast.
I do wish there were maybe one or two extra modes; after a while the repetition settles in. Sometimes I caught myself making accidental moves since everything feels very touch-sensitive (could be my device though). Still, it's hard not to keep going back just to beat my last score.
All things considered? Not bad at all. If you want something mellow but still engaging now and then—well—it fits the bill.
